(JEFFERSON PARISH, La.) – The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) is accepting applications for a full-time Credit Analyst to join it’s Finance team. The position will support financing initiatives that help businesses start, expand, create jobs, and invest in Jefferson Parish.
The Credit Analyst will play an important role in evaluating commercial and Small Business Administration (SBA) loan requests, preparing credit analyses, and helping structure financing solutions that support local economic growth. This opportunity is well suited for an experienced commercial lender or credit professional interested in applying their expertise within a mission-driven economic development organization.
Primary responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, tax returns, cash-flow projections, credit reports, and other financial information; underwriting commercial and SBA financing requests; preparing comprehensive credit memoranda and recommendations; and presenting analyses to JEDCO management, the Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
The Credit Analyst will also recommend appropriate loan terms, collateral, guarantees, and covenants; prepare and package SBA 504 and other commercial loan applications; conduct due diligence; and coordinate with borrowers, financial institutions, attorneys, title companies, and other stakeholders throughout the underwriting process.
Qualified candidates should have at least five years of experience in commercial banking or a related financial services field, along with commercial lending or credit underwriting experience. Candidates should possess strong financial statement and cash-flow analysis skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field; experience with SBA lending, particularly the SBA 504 program; formal commercial credit training; and experience using commercial lending software.
