JEDCO seeking Commercial Loan Officer/Business Development Officer

Position Description

The Commercial Loan Officer/Business Development Officer position supports JEDCO’s Finance department growing JEDCO’s loan portfolios by providing service to those borrowers for whom traditional financing may not be an option.  Prospective applicants will have the chance to work alongside passionate and talented individuals, working to advance the overall economic viability of Jefferson Parish and ultimately the Greater New Orleans region.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Generate new small business loans through consultative sales
• Promote JEDCO’s loan programs and economic development initiatives
• Provide technical consult to start-ups and growing small businesses
• Build COI network for loan referrals
• Underwrite commercial loans: structure loan terms, prepare credit memo, perform financial analysis
• Package SBA loans
• Present new loan requests to Finance Committee/Board of Directors

Professional Attributes and Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred.  In lieu of degree, 8+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years in banking or related field
• Prior commercial lending experience
• Formal credit training preferred
• Preference given to candidates with SBA loan program experience
• Excellent customer service orientation with good writer and communication skills
• Self-starter who works well within a team environment
• Criminal background check and credit investigation required
