The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) and the Westbank Business & Industry Association (WBIA) will host their second annual workforce event, Workforce 2.0,  created to open the lines of communication between businesses and regional workforce training and resource providers. Businesses will meet major workforce influencers face-to-face during this four-hour networking event.  This is an opportunity for businesses to learn more about available workforce resources and training programs while also sharing their hiring needs, experiences, and expectations with the essential contacts at each organization.

Workforce 2.o affords the perfect opportunity to:

• meet with Training Providers who teach job readiness skill courses
• discover high school programs: dual enrollment and Industry Based Certification (IBC) for new employees
• discover if your business is eligible for tax credits for apprenticeship
• discover funding for in-house training to assist in the skill development of existing employees

HOW IT WORKS:

Over this four-hour event, you’ll have an opportunity to network and connect with twelve different resource and training providers. In addition to our networking space, the event will offer small breakout seminar sessions from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., which will allow resource and training providers to share in-depth overviews of their offerings
